Program Design and Implementation

What is a community? How do you define your community? What are the essential elements of your community and what are its key issues? How does your community plan and are members of your community involved in that process? Which local and regional dynamics affect your community? Who are the members of your community and are their specific needs met? What is the history of your community and how is it recorded and shared? Is your community safe, stable, and resilient?

These questions and more frame the foundation of our work at JGC. By mapping these critical data points and understanding the complete story, we craft local and regional strategies to make communities more safe, stable, and resilient. We draw on our previous work building and implementing emergency, humanitarian, and development programs around the world to assist interested communities closer to home.  Throughout our process engaging directly with communities in need, we partner with experts in renewable energy, public safety, broadband and cyber security, and other areas to ensure those critical capabilities are properly met. Our take on community planning requires direct participation from all groups and members of a community and focuses on long term outcomes over short term wins.

Grant Management and Writing

Designing and implementing programs are worthy goals, but at JGC we pair these activities with a holistic approach, factoring in our clients’ capacity to apply for and manage grant funds.  Each clients’ grants management strategy and process are custom-built for that client based on their capacity and goals.  JGC fills the gaps, providing grants management expertise, application preparation services, as well as, where possible, connecting applicants and specialist partners to pursue those grant opportunities

Information Management

At the intersection of community surveys, planning assessments, corresponding development strategies, and the management of grants, is the management of information.  We directly support non-Federal governments and partner with private specialized companies, and consequently must manage the information and data which passes through us throughout those interactions.  This information varies from research products to interview results to complete grant application packages.

Research and Analysis

At JGC, our work is supported by academic research and data analysis. No community assessment is complete without a thorough historical study of the area and its people; no grants program is complete without access to the authorizing legislation.  We value primary and direct sources of information and incorporate these data.
